Today I was playing with Morgan in her room and she was giggling away and making a ton of noise (as usual).

Suddenly she stopped laughing and became very serious.

She got up and booted it down the hallway, down the stairs to the living room, climbed up on the love seat and whipped back the curtains.

I couldn’t figure out what she was doing but she was really intent in her purpose.

A few minutes went by and then I finally heard what she had heard from her bedroom – the garbage man was coming down the street.

I hung back and just watched her.

She started waving her arms and then squealed.  I peaked out from another window and there was the garbage man waving back at her.  As he drove away he honked his horn in a little tune and she started laughing.

She is apparently quite smitten with her Friday friend =)

Today our new door knocker arrived from Shropshire in the UK.

Shipping was brutal but the door knocker rocks!

Ghost Car

Jul 22

I was at my desk today working on a website when I heard my car unlock.  A few seconds later it suddenly locked.  And then the alarm went off.  And then shut off.  And then locked.

Oh no! – some microchip has malfunctioned or burnt out or just gone screwy and how am I going to get this fixed?  (And how much?)

I went to go investigate – and that’s when I saw Morgan walking around with my keys hanging out of her mouth.  The key fob was in her mouth and she was happily chewing on it and activating the buttons.

No defective chip, just a 13 month old (and a very soggy key fob).

This afternoon Morgan and I were playing peek-a-boo.

Morgan was in the master bedroom and I was in Morgan’s room just down the hall.  She and I would take turns poking  our heads out the door.  She thought it was a hoot!

I then thought I’d try to get her to come back to her room by closing her door (she usually can’t pass up a newly closed door).  Much to my surprise, she didn’t come to find me.  I opened the door to find that she had also closed the door to the master bedroom.

I guess she’s starting to get a little too clever.

This has been a busy month for us… we’ve had a flurry of activity around the house.

Not the least of which was a visit with Jon and Brandi and Isobelle Snow and Raven, Robyn, Mason, and Cordelia Kopelman. We had shish kabob’s on the bbq and a great visit after spending some time down at Porpoise Bay Beach with the families. Morgan got her feet wet in the ocean for the first time(!)

Morgan played in her pool that she got from her birthday from Jim and Sherry and she managed to eat most of the sand that Jim and Annika gave her (mmm, nice sandy diaper’s).

We also went to Cliff Gilker Park for a day in the park. Morgan had a great time in the waterfall.

Here are a few pictures (w/ a few videos).
